New York: Quarters

At the onset of New York’s affluent Tribeca neighborhood, a few blocks down from Canal street and up a flight of stairs, you will find Quarters; a concept store and gathering space created by Felicia Hung and Nick Ozemba. The founders behind design studio In Common With have taken this 19th-century Tribeca loft turned concept store and created a warm, welcoming space that invites you in.

If you are hoping to make a visit at the bar, I highly suggest making a reservation in advance. Though you can always try your luck and if there is a wait, spend your time exploring the multiple rooms, all curated to perfection with the In Common With lighting collection, vintage furnishings, rare books, specialty pantry items, and independent works by peers and fellow artists. My favorite pieces are the large, red abstract paintings that are the centerpiece of the two main rooms.

The Bar at Quarters specializes in wine and seasonal small plates and is open day to night. I have yet to try the evening service, though in my opinion, the drinks what I would come back for.

How to make the most of your visit.

Quarters is wonderful for a day date or for catching up with a dear friend in beautiful surroundings. The space is also conveniently located across the street from multiple art galleries and with easy access to New York’s bustling food scene, so I highly recommend the visit should you ever find yourself in the neighborhood.
